my approach to therapy

Therapy works best when it feels like a collaborative process.

Therapy doesn’t require you to have everything figured out before you walk in the door. My role is to help you slow down, take a step back from what’s been weighing on you, and begin making sense of it.

Together we’ll look at patterns in thoughts, emotions, and habits that may be making things harder than they need to be, and develop practical strategies that help you handle challenges with a clearer sense of direction.

Evidence-Based and Practical

My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies. These approaches focus on understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and building skills that help you respond to challenges more effectively.

Therapy isn’t about labeling or fixing problems. It’s about developing insight, learning practical skills, and making changes that support the life you want to live.

A Collaborative Process

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their goals, strengths, and challenges. Together we identify what feels most important to focus on and develop an approach that fits your needs and values.

A Space to Pause and Reflect

When we’re dealing with stress or anxiety, it’s easy to get caught in the day-to-day experience of it. In therapy, we take time to step back and look at what’s been happening more closely — the thoughts, reactions, and habits that shape how situations unfold.

Understanding those patterns makes it easier to respond differently and move toward the changes you want to make.
